How often do we get into an argument when it comes to deciding what’s better, running or cycling? While there are many who love both sports, here are our reasons why cycling is better than running!
Coasting is really fun:
It’s such a great feeling to stop pedalling and still move forward with ease. Running, on the other hand, doesn’t offer this advantage.
That being said, if you are a runner, try stopping, you know where it takes you 😉
Pretty debatable, running is known to cause muscle strain, inflammation and other injuries. However, cycling, on the other hand, offer similar cardiovascular benefits and is a low impact sport.
Ride to work:
Running to work might leave you in a puddle of sweat, especially in a country like India where the weather is hot. Cycling is the king when it comes to this.
Travel more; explore more:
You might be proud of running a full marathon. Well, cyclists cover the same distance for breakfast 😉 Not only that, cycling lets them travel further and explore more of nature.
We get to sit:
Ever stood in a train on your way back home after a tiring day at work? It’s tiring, isn’t it?
Well, a cyclist gets to sit no matter where he goes.
Boost your mechanical skills:
It’s understood that cycling could bring with it mechanical issues. But rather than looking at it as an obstacle, we take it as an opportunity to learn and enhance our skills.
The feeling of getting your hands covered in grease and figuring out the issue all by yourself is a different pleasure which only a cyclist understands.
There’s always something new:
A runner might be limited to the number of shoes he would buy. However, a cyclist has access to a variety of wheels, bottles, components that not only look good but can get you faster.
Group rides are more social:
Every tried to have a conversation while running? The muddled sentences you speak while running leaves you gasping for air.
If you are on the bike, conversations flow like the melody!
Are you looking to get quads that are crafted by an artist? Start cycling!
One of the best rewards a cyclist can get is the downhill. The feeling when the wind hits your face and cuts through your hair as you fly through the downhill is exhilarating.
For runners, this feeling is completely non-existent.
You can actually go somewhere:
Looking to hang out with friends? Want to go to have coffee with your friends? Want to grab a few groceries? Just pedal your way through traffic in no time.
Cycling is not only a way to live healthily but also a very good way to commute from one place to another.
Bicycles are just cool:
Well, all said and done, cycling is a cool sport!
